Baby Store Adventure

Ryan and I went to the baby store this past Saturday. We have a Babies R Us and a Buy Buy Baby in our general location (as in within 15 miles) so we chose Buy Buy Baby. BBB as everyone on the mommie blogs calls it, it structured more like a Bed Bath and Beyond than a giant warehouse store. So much so in fact that I bet they are owned or at least decorated by the same people.

We were a bit overwhelmed and quickly realized we probably shouldn't have chosen Saturday morning for our first Baby Store adventure. But, we had a list and we marched around the store looking at all of the items we had looked at online so we could properly compare and contrast. In the pack n play and bouncer section we met Jean. She is a trainer from North Carolina who was just in for the week to train a few of the Rockville employees on a few new products. She had one day left on her trip and had decided to spend it on the floor at the BBB store. It was fate- and she became our BBB savior.

After 5 or 6 minutes of discussion she became brutally honest about what items were needs and which were wants. We convinced her that we have a TINY apartment and we were looking for items that either did more than one thing, or allowed us to easily carry the new one around a metro center. She stuck with us for the next hour or so but not in that annoying salesperson way and was even smart enough to walk off every so often so we could talk about stuff in "private." (the privacy of a store full of parents, babies, toddlers and sales people)

I think at the end we figured a few things out and have even more questions on others. It looks like we will be making that hour long trek out to BBB again in the near future- but I might try to avoid 10am on a Saturday.
